Richard enjoys sitting around on the sofa and watching films where 75% of the male cast have pony tails and have names like Niko and Raoul.  As a basic rule, he says, "if it ain't got no helicopter gun ship it's a romantic comedy."

Richard Hatch, amazingly, is the only BFBS Radio presenter lucky enough to be the living reincarnation of an Egyptian pharaoh (Tutankhamun).  He is also the only member of BFBS Radio to have gone into space (Mars).

Richard enjoys talking like a big shot and dislikes writing biogs and people who falsely claim to be reincarnated.
